Key Mortgage Services Inc. has launched Key Mortgage Affinity, a new partnership program that helps credit unions and community banks expand their mortgage offerings while keeping their own branding and without adding internal infrastructure by providing processing, underwriting, technology access, co-branded marketing, staff training, relocation services, and access to the secondary loan market. According to Ralph Melbourne, president of Key Mortgage, “Our goal with Key Mortgage Affinity is to be a true partner, helping institutions serve their customers more deeply without burdening them with additional infrastructure,” and he emphasized that, under the Aligned model, “Key Mortgage becomes the financial institution’s mortgage team. After a warm handoff, we manage everything from origination to closing.” In describing the Integrated model, he said, “The financial institution plays a bigger role at the front end… while Key Mortgage powers the back end,” and explained that the Broker model gives partners flexibility to access Key’s investor network for complex loan needs. He also noted that “each partnership includes staff training, co-branded marketing, and reciprocal benefits like loan trading, relocation support…” and that the program — already licensed in 18 states — will continue to scale nationally.
